Treatment with CLP1001, a cross-linked polyelectrolyte polymer, relieved fluid overload and other symptoms in HF patients with chronic kidney disease, according to phase 2a data presented at the Heart Failure Society of America 16th Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle.
Barry M. Massie, MD, professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and colleagues conducted a double blind, randomized, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study of CLP1001 (Sorbent Pharmaceuticals) during 8 weeks of treatment. The study included 111 patients with HF and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Results were presented during a late-breaking news session.
