Target Audience: The intended audience for the activities is infectious disease specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with HIV.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Assess the pathogenesis of lipodystrophy in HIV-infected patients by reviewing the effects of antiretroviral medications, HIV itself, as well as genetic and other host factors.
- Implement diagnostic methodologies into practice that assess patients early for signs and symptoms of HIV-associated lipodystrophy.
- Apply evidence-based medicine to effectively treat and manage HIV-associated lipodystrophy to improve the physiological and psychological aspects of the disease as well as increase patient adherence to therapeutic regimens,
