  • Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer and is the leading cause of death from skin disease. The worldwide incidence of invasive primary cutaneous melanoma has been increasing for decades. There are a number of available therapies for melanoma, with emerging data on their efficacy and safety. Treatment must be tailored to each individual patient based on their disease stage and extenuating life circumstances.

Target Audience: This program is designed for oncologists, dermatologists, researchers, physician assistants, nurses and students who are involved in the treatment of high-risk melanoma.

Learning Objectives: After reviewing the material, the participants should be able to:

  1. Compare interferon dosing regimens for their ability to improve relapse-free and overall survival in patients with advanced melanoma.
  2. Evaluate evidence-based guidelines, clinical study data, and patient medical history, performance status, and co-morbidities when incorporating high-dose interferon, pegylated interferon, or observation in patients with advanced, non-metastatic melanoma to individualize therapy for each patient.
