  • If diagnosed early, basal cell carcinoma can often be a treatable malignancy with a good prognosis for the patient. Being diligent about identifying patients at risk and recognizing early signs is critical to afford patients the best outcomes. For advanced disease, it is critical to implement management strategies quickly to minimize disease progression. New therapies are emerging that target the Hedgehog signaling pathway in patients with advanced stage basal cell carcinoma, and early findings are encouraging. In this program, leading clinicians will present the latest data related to treatment of early and advanced basal cell carcinoma, as well as discuss practical strategies to manage, while also previewing the potential for emerging targeted therapies.

Sponsorship Statement: This continuing medical education activity is sponsored by Vindico Medical Education.

Support Statement: This activity is supported by an educational grant from genentech_sm.gif.

Target Audience: This program is designed for dermatologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with advanced basal cell carcinoma.
