Target Audience:
The intended audience for this activity is endocrinologists, internal medicine physicians, family practice physicians, diabetologists, certified diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with Type 2 diabetes.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:
- Characterize emerging therapies for diabetes in terms of their mechanism of action, physiological basis, and importance in achieving glycemic goals and improving patient care.
- Select treatment regimens that will best enable patients with T2DM to achieve guideline-recommended targets for glycemic, lipid, and blood pressure control, cardiometabolic risk reduction, and improvement of outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve medication adherence among patients with T2DM.
