Target Audience: The intended audience for the activities is endocrinologists, diabetologists, lipidologists, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Implement diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, and medication to raise levels of HDL and offset the risk of cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes.
- Explain how CETP inhibition increases HDL concentration and may act to reduce the residual risk of atherosclerotic events.
- Evaluate clinical trial data for the safety and efficacy of emerging treatment options for dyslipidemia concomitant to diabetes.
