Target Audience: The intended audience for the activities is primary care physicians, internal medicine physicians, cardiologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of dyslipidemia in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:
- Discuss the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease in chronic renal disease
- Evaluate evidence-based medicine and clinical data on treatment regimens that result in a reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with renal disease
- Implement practice strategies that reduce cardiovascular events in patients with renal disease, including those with renal insufficiency and renal failure
